Maybe that is the reason it has also been the site of so many infamous fights and battles and the reason that it now is blessed with so much rich history and ancientsites, from castles and towers to old Roman remains and ancient abbeys. Passing from St Mary’s Loch onto the outer parts of greater Selkirk they are an extremely popular location for fishing and sailing, climbing, walking and cycling,. Fish in the famous lochs, play golf on the world-renowned fairways or simply sit with a picnic and book on the sandy beaches along the coast; but whatever you do, make sure you visit the Scottish Borders.
